1857Psyche Literary Society Formed

The Psyche Literary Society was organized by Lucy Larcom in October 1857. Originally a literary and intellectual discussion group for any interested students, it later became the senior honor society.

1870Wheaton Alumnae Association Founded

The Wheaton Seminary Alumnae Association held its first meeting after graduation exercises on July 13. Mrs. Metcalf was elected the association’s first President. Plans for the association were formulated in 1869 by the Class of 1870.

1881Walking Club Formed, Quickly Disbanded

On Saturday, October 8, the Walking Club is organized, with a membership of four.

1932Aviation Club Organized

A Flying Club is organized by Edna Fishman.

1943Students Organize for the War Effort

The Student War Activities Board, or SWAB, organizes war relief efforts.
