Peter Anthony Bertocci Speaks at Commencement
Peter Anthony Bertocci, Borden Parker Bowne professor of philosophy at Boston University, speaks at Wheaton’s 128th commencement. In addition to his professorship at Brown, Bertocci was also the President of the Metaphysical Society of America. In 1956, Bertocci sent a letter to his former student, Martin Luther King, Jr., commending him for his fight for justice in the Montgomery Bus Boycotts. Bertocci’s address to the Class of 1963 grapples with the definition of “excellence” in American education.
