Jehan al-Sadat Speaks at Commencement

Jehan al-Sadat, Egyptian human rights activist and widow of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, speaks at Wheaton’s 149th Commencement and is awarded an honorary degree. On the legacy of New England’s oldest women’s college, al-Sadat states that “it is the result of generations of determined women putting their knowledge and willpower at the service of their sisters”.
