Dr. Mary E. Woolley 1884, president of Mount Holyoke College, is awarded an honorary degree.
Woolley was the first woman to graduate from Brown University, later taught at Wheaton and Wellesley College, and then became president of Mount Holyoke College and a Wheaton trustee.
