First Yearbook Published

The first yearbook is published, known simply as The Wheaton Yearbook. The junior class edits it for the class of 1916. It is officially named Niké in 1918 and is named in honor of the goddess Nike, also known as ‘Winged Victory’ or the Goddess of Victory. Nike was the daughter of of the Titan Pallas and the goddess Styx, and often bestowed fame and glory to the victorious. The chosen title was a way to honor graduating seniors with hope for their promising futures.
